What if every event such as 9/11 or the rise of ISIS is a new opportunity to choose between retaliation and meeting violence with violence (choosing a new “Armageddon” for our world), or the way of forgiveness and ending that cycle of violence (the Kingdom of God, on earth as in heaven)? 

What if we acted out the good news of love (1 John) instead of preaching rules and doctrines?

What if we learn the lesson Jesus came to preach to the nation of Israel, that seeking a warrior messiah would lead to destruction (violence begets violence - AD 70), but to follow his counter-cultural way of unlimited forgiveness would lead to peace?
